How to Reduce Fat Effectively !
In today’s edition, we talk about a storage cell in the body called fat, what are some of its positive and negative impacts, and how to effectively decrease it for aesthetics and health.
In the world today we are constantly bombarded with different types of ways to decrease weight and shape the body. Before the obesity boom of 1978-1980, gyms were not a common thing in society. Most of our physical wellness and strength came from calisthenics and working outdoors. Now we have a gym in every city, some side by side, in houses, hotels, and apartment complexes. All of the weight loss products are here now due to the need because of the increase in the world’s levels of obesity. How did we get to this point?
Let us first explore what are the different types of fat and why are we holding onto it more and more in modern times. Fat is multifaceted and there are different types of fat that we have in the body.
Type of Body Fat | Description | Positive Impacts | Negative Impacts |
---|---|---|---|
White Adipose Tissue (White Fat) | - Most common type of fat found in the body | - Stores energy for future use | - Excess accumulation leads to obesity, increasing the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension |
- Large cells with a single lipid droplet | - Provides insulation and cushioning for organs | - Can secrete inflammatory cytokines, contributing to chronic inflammation | |
- Found subcutaneously (under the skin) and viscerally (around organs) | - Produces hormones like leptin, which regulates hunger | - Excess visceral fat is particularly harmful, increasing the risk of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease | |
Brown Adipose Tissue (Brown Fat) | - Contains smaller cells with multiple lipid droplets and a high number of mitochondria | - Generates heat by burning calories (thermogenesis), helping maintain body temperature | - Decreases with age, making it harder to manage weight and maintain body temperature |
- Primarily found in newborns and in small amounts in adults (neck, shoulders, and spine) | - Improves glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity | - Limited quantity in adults means it has a smaller overall impact on weight management | |
Beige Fat (Brite Fat) | - Intermediate form between white and brown fat; can convert from white to brown under certain conditions | - Can increase energy expenditure by adopting brown fat-like characteristics under stimulation (e.g., exercise, cold exposure) | - Susceptibility to unhealthy lifestyle factors can prevent the beneficial conversion from white to beige |
- Found within white fat depots | - Contributes to improved metabolic health and reduced risk of obesity when activated | ||
Subcutaneous Fat | - Fat stored directly under the skin | - Provides cushioning and protects muscles and bones | - Excess accumulation can lead to cosmetic concerns and potential metabolic issues if overly abundant |
- Most common in thighs, hips, and buttocks | - Helps with body temperature regulation | - Less metabolically active than visceral fat, but still can contribute to insulin resistance if excessive | |
Visceral Fat | - Fat stored around internal organs in the abdominal cavity | - Provides some cushioning for organs | - Highly metabolically active, secreting inflammatory markers that contribute to chronic diseases |
- More dangerous than subcutaneous fat | - Strongly linked to increased risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other metabolic disorders |
Fat at the most basic level is created for storage and protection of the organs. It stores nutrition, water, and toxins. When the body is overburdened by toxins or it is struggling to detoxify it will store these toxins in the body inside of fat cells. Fat is designed to help with survival in times of famine and hold toxins so when the liver is less burdened it can process them. So how did we get to the point where we require gyms on every corner? Different products to help us decrease levels of white fat on the body? The answer is the increase in chemicals in the foods we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. The body is being bombarded by the toxins so heavily that it’s storing them more than ever.
What is the modern solution to the problem? It truly depends on who you ask. Most doctors won’t tell you, is that your obesity is due to the excess of toxins. They may blame it on a thyroid issue ( which is a viral issue) some may say you are lazy and don’t practice self-control, or that you just need to eat less and move more. The list goes on and on and there never seems to be anything that works. Right now the big push is to move more, lift heavy weights, and eat more protein… Recently there was a study that found one of the biggest dairy sources of protein which is used and promoted constantly on social media platforms as one of the best forms of protein sources is fairlife. When testing for toxins they found it ranked Number 1 of all dairy protein sources of phalates. These toxic chemicals in simple terms are microplastics. They have not been around forever, they have been showing up in our food starting approximately 25+ years ago. As we see the chemicals in our food go up, we see our waistlines increasing. Phalates specifically are endocrine disrupters. This is particularly troublesome in women due to the endocrine system controlling hormones.
The most effective way to decrease toxins in the body is by allowing the body to do it without interruption of digestion and move into deep autophagy. We accomplish this by fasting for periods starting at about 16 hours and peaking at about 72 hours. During periods of fasting the body goes into deep clean-up mode of the cells and breaks down white and visceral fat extremely rapidly. These as we now know are the most dangerous types of fat. It also breaks down subcutaneous fats which is why you do not get loose skin when losing weight with fasting. This is the most effective form of fat loss known to man. We use the stored nutrition we have inside of fat for energy and allow the toxins inside of the fat to be removed and processed FINALLY that the body has been holding; in turn this will effectively cause a huge reduction in not just weight loss but specifically FAT LOSS.
The process of fasting is not new, it is something that has been spoken about for centuries by some of the most renowned scholars of human history. We have never needed this time-old therapy more than ever. Have you ever wondered why you start going to the gym and make some changes in your diet, lose 15-20 lbs and plateau, and can’t seem to get the scale to move again? This is due to the decrease in inflammation in the body and not fat. This is why you rebound up and down the same 20 lbs and can’t seem to move the needle further. You are not decreasing true fat or releasing the stores inside of the cell and you MUST put your body into a space where it needs to use those storages for energy to effectively burn fat.
“Instead of asking how can I lose this weight, ask how can I remove the toxins from the fat stores in my body”
